Washer??  What is with all the Washers at Hunterworks??

What is belt overtravel?

The clutches are allowed to close all the way and stop, where they stop is the issue.  It appears Polaris is struggling on some models to get this correct or it is done on purpose to blow belts so they can sell more belts.  Several models overtravel the belt too far in the secondary and some overtravel too far in the primary.  Both issues are taken care of more or less the same way by limiting the travel of the primary clutch.  The problem is, too much limits speed and makes it hit the limiter, too little burn belts.  So as these issues have presented itself, we have been addressing them with the correct style of washer and having them made as none are a mass produced part, all custom made.  I also need to make this clear again, the ONLY belt a washer is directly connected to is our Thick belt.

STD Washer

The STD washer is for an belt overtravel issue where the belt overtravels too far into the secondary clutch on any Polaris vehicle that uses a XP 1000 RZR belt.  This washer is not related to any particular belt. The issue is the overall thickness of the belt and the combination of these clutches.  The STD washer is for the General XP, 1000S, XP 1000 RZR all models of each.  (Reg. General not included)   More details with video on the STD Washer page on our site, click HERE for that detailed info. This washer no longer comes with any belt must be bought separate.

Thick Washer

Simple answer, ONLY to be used with our Thick belt due to the way that belt is made and for its purpose. The Thick belt is made thicker and shorter for more belt grip for low range only riders and hopefully no noise.  This belt/washer combo is only sold for RZR XP 1000's any style or model there of.

2016-2020 Turbo Black Washer

This washer is to be used ONLY on 2016-2020 Turbo RZR excluding the 2020 Pro for the exact reason as the STD washer is for the non turbo.  Polaris seems to not have the clutch set correctly to stop at the correct location on every vehicle so for those that have overtravel then this fixes it.  CLick HERE for that washer and more details via video

2021-2022 Turbo Flat Metal Washer

All 2021-22 Models of any kind with a Turbo, Pro/S/ Reg. This washer is also for overtravel but not belt overtravel in the secondary like the rest, on these models the clutch closes too far and pushes the belt out of the primary and allows the belt to slip at high speed and hit the cover.  There is plenty room in secondary for travel so that is not an issue there.  Click HERE  for more details on it and video

2018-2022 Ranger XP 1000 STD Washer

This is the same STD washer that the XP RZR uses but not to control overtravel in the secondary but to control it in the primary just like the Turbo washer mentioned above this, limits priamry clutch travel, stops belt slipping and hitting the cover  Click HERE for more details on and a video
