The following is a review from one of the first customers who received the new Prowler CDI. Realize these guys have other mods and you won't have to make jetting changes with a stock vehicle.

Well the brown truck brought me an early Christmas present today...a Hunterworks/Dynatek CDI!!

I did some testing and according to my GPS bone stock (except for an exhaust tip and pilot screw turned out 1/4 turn from stock and secondary spring tightened 1 notch) I could get 6000 rpms and 47.7mph on a flat gravel road. Then it was revlimiter city. This was with a clean stock air filter, half tank of fuel, and a Arctic Cat half windshield.

After installing the CDI (total of 5 minutes work) I set out for the same run. 55.7mph with it running flat. I believe it would do better with a re-jet as it seemed lean. Didn't get a dead reading of the rpms but it was around 7400 give or take. Had to keep my eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel with the gravel road.

Then to the woods. There is alot more punch in the 2500 & up rpm range. Again I think with a re-jet I can get even more out of it. It will power slide alot easier as the revs jump quicker. It took 2 times of adjusting the idle speed up as when first installed it would idle around 1100-1200. Bumped it to 1400 and all was good untill half way through the woods and it wanted to idle funny again. Back to the adjustment screw and all was good after that. Maybe total of 1/2 turn up on the idle knob.

The next test I gave it was driveway to driveway. The house drive and garage drive are 125' apart (give or take 5'). From a dead stop, stock CDI, GPS showed 25.1mph. After the new CDI I was reaching 28.9mph in the same distance.

The sound from the exhaust was different at idle also. It seemed more hollow for some strange reason. Other than that it sounded normal. I seemed to get more popping on decel than before, once again making me feel a re-jet will get the most potential from this unit in my application.
Hot starting was almost instant with the new CDI. With the stock CDI it had to crank 4-5 seconds to come to life. The removal of the reverse rev-limit was very nice. It will just take a bit to get used to not reaching for that dumb button anymore.

I still feel ripped off though as the instructions sheet says there is a 14" zip tie supplied and it was not there...
Thanks Todd for making this a reality for all us Proud Prowler Owners!
Review #2
Todd....I was the one that you sent the pilot jets to, after I bought the Mikuni from you. I couldn't get it to stop popping and backfiring on deceleration at my elevation, which is about 1400ft, even with the biggest pilot jet in there. And it doesn't like to idle as much with the big pilot. Now, when I take it up to the mountains, which is about 7000ft, it runs great with very, very limited popping if at all............... Now for the good part. I put the new CDI in this afternoon and upped the pilot and main to the biggest jets I have. It idles fine and only pops a fraction of the time that it did before. And I was getting about 46 on my speedo while bouncing off the rev limiter. Now I took it out on the 50 mph streets here in town and was able to catch up to cars, with my speedo showing 54. So overall I am extremely happy with the performance. It seems to have put my Prowler right where I want it. I can't wait to get it to the dunes with all my new mods on it and see what it does. Oh yeah, I also put my new 14" black SS wheels and Bighorns on too. I'll post a pic or 2 when I take one.
