Want to add a little extra Humph to your Prowler? Hunterworks spent plenty time on the Dyno developing a good performance carburator kit for the Prowler.

  • Direct bolt in

  • Adds 2.5 HP at Peek HP and 8HP at 50mph see Dyno Graph below

  • Really wakes the bottom end up!!

  • Custom choke cable included

  • HW modified Mikuni 36mm carb

  • (4) Extra main jets included

  • Flows 20% better than stock Carb

  • Instructions with pictures included

  • You will need to modify your air box lid and some increased intake noise should be expected.

Why the same size as stock? Because it performed better than the larger carbs due to the lower velocity in the larger carbs.

Read the following from one of the tech articles we wrote in our forum:

Bigger is NOT better, the stock carb on a Rhino is 42mm and on the Prowler it is a 36mm. According to some research 36mm is ideal for both for the amount of RPM and displacement. I just got thru testing carbs on the Prowler and the 36mm Mikuni with a accelerator pump worked out the best, when I went to a larger carb HP decreased and the reason is lower velocity thru the larger carb thus less fuel.

As I said our engines are a rather low speed engine and you need velocity to make the carb work best. If you put a large carb on there it slows it down so that off idle up thru the 6000rpm range it just simply won't perform as well.

When does a bigger carb work? When you have a engine reaching and maintaining a high rpm, such as running a long time at wide open thottle but most of us don't run there.

The stock vacuum operated carbs used on both units are slow to open and do restrict the air somewhat when you need it. A carb with a accelarator pump really lauches the vehicle due to it's ability of squirting fuel in from the get go. The only down side of this style of carb is instead of stabbing the accelerator, you have to roll on it or it will have a lag for a brief second. The reason is, you go from a high vacuum with the throttle almost closed at idle to wide open and the vacuum drops so rapidily you don't have enough velocity to bring fuel into the stream and atomize it very well. I can tell you that by simply changing from the 36mm CV style to the 36mm pumper style we gained 2.5HP and the seat of the pants dyno noticed a big change especially on take off
